Department of English widens their presence from 18th Century to 21st Century in multifarious fields of literature throughout the globe. It picturizes the students to indulge on their own writings. We strive to equip the students with the knowledge for their innovations and skills they need for critical thinking, analysing the text and interpreting the concept with their new ideas.
We make tenderfoot to take part in various emulation that recreates them to finest scholar through various activities. We encourage their creative expansion by introducing English clubs which meets periodically for poetry readings and various social events
For developing the theatrical arts we have drama club. It stimulates the acting skills of students to come up with various genres in media. There is a literary magazine that showcases the finest poetry, short stories and black and white photographies created by students’ handwork. To rekindle their innovations we have Literary expo to showcase their talents from changing the stories into models in their creative and imaginative ways for the exhibition.
After completing graduation, students generally get confused whether to work or go for further studies. There are many professional courses like Journalism and Mass Communication, Digital marketing, content writing, Linguistics, Film Editing, Visual communication etc. there are many academic courses like M.A, M.Phil and Ph.D, which students can pursue if they want to go for research work or wants to be in academia.
Masters program that can be pursued after BA English are Journalism, Master of Communication Studies, Master of Journalism and Mass Communication, MA Mass Communication, MA Creative Writing, MA English, MBA and various other PG Diploma programs. Those who complete Journalism can work as sub-editors and reporters in the print media or as assistant information officer and public relation officer in the Government’s information service and so on. A good personality and fluency can fetch them the job as news reporter on T.V.
